Frequently Asked Questions

General Information

WHY DO YOU USE FULL-SPECTRUM EXTRACTS?

Full-spectrum cannabis extracts, as the name suggest, contains all the compounds contained in the whole plant. This includes a wide range of beneficial cannabinoids, terpenes and even cannabis flavonoids, each of which not only have their own therapeutic properties, but they also have a cumulative effect on the efficacy of each other. This is due to something called the “entourage effect”.

Since all these compounds work synergistically in such a way that the sum of the individual parts are greater than the whole, Farside products focus use of full-spectrum extracts so that you can reap the maximum benefits from investment in your health.

DO YOUR PRODUCTS CONTAIN THC?

Because we use full-spectrum cannabis extracts, our products do contain Δ9–tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) in various concentrations. That is why our products also contain a wide range of other types of cannabinoids, such as Cannabidiol (CBD), Cannabinol (CBN), Cannabigerol (CBG), Tetrahydrocannabivarin (THCV), and Cannabidivarin (CBDV) in addition to terpenes such as linalool and caryophyllene, as well as a wide range of cannabis flavonoids.

Your consulting medical practitioner will help you in choosing the right ratios, concentrations, and potencies for your Farside cannabis medicine. For more information on dosing read this article.

HOW MUCH SHOULD I USE?

The general guideline for dosing is to ‘start low and go slow’. The general rule of thumb however is that the type of condition you are suffering from, the severity of it, as well as your body size, composition and biology all contributing to the way the medicine will affect you.

Your medical consultant will monitor your response to the products while helping you find your optimal dosage.

HOW DO I USE THE PRODUCT?

Farside products are to be used orally, either by swallowing the dose, or in the case of oils and extracts, placing droplets under the tongue.

IS MEDICAL CANNABIS SAFE?

To date, there has never been a recorded death from the use of cannabis. That is because cannabis has an extraordinarily high estimated lethal dose, equivalent to smoking approximately 1,500 pounds in 15 minutes – something that is a physical impossibility.

It is this level of safety coupled with its lack of negative effect on major physiological functions and few side-effects that makes cannabis such a remarkable medical therapy.

IS MEDICAL CANNABIS RIGHT FOR ME?

It is only once you start working with your doctor that you can safely determine if medical cannabis is a product that might be right to help with your particular condition. You can book a consultation here to find out if it could be right for you.

WILL I BECOME ADDICTED?

While there is a potential for addiction it is highly unlikely with less than 1 in 10 people who do try cannabis, becoming dependent. This is a very low number when compared to other substances such as nicotine (32%), heroin (23%), alcohol (15%), cocaine (17%), and stimulants (11%).

CAN I DRIVE AFTER I TAKE A DOSE?

As with any other type of medication that has the potential for sedation and cognitive impairment, it is strongly recommended to not operate any heavy machinery or driving a motor vehicle. The following guidelines for driving under the influence of cannabis have been suggested by the College of Family Physicians of Canada:

1. Four hours after inhalation

2. Six hours after oral ingestion

3. Eight hours after either inhalation or oral ingestion in the even of euphoria being experienced.
